These templates provided here are for your convenience.  You may change any wording or add or delete sentences, in fact, I encourage it!  If a judge or legislator reads the same letter word for word from many people, it seems a bit obvious that these were not personal letters but simply copied and signed.  You may be thinking what is a letter going to do to help animals?  Plenty!  According to former Congressperson Billy Evan (D-Ga.), "Legislators estimate that 10 letters from constituents represent the concerns of 10,000 citizens. Anybody who will take the time to write is voicing the fears and desires of thousands more." If that's not enough to convince you, ask yourself this: If you don't communicate with the officials representing you, who will?  You are helping animals more and more with each letter you send.  Help get the word out that Americans do not tolerate the abuse and inhumane treatment of our animals.  If you have or have had pets, think if something cruel were done to them.  Take that anger and put it on paper, respectfully of course.  Thank you for helping to stop cruelty to animals!

The links in the bottom left hand corner will lead you to the corresponding action alerts pages for the sites.  Action alerts, for those who are unfamiliar with activism, are notifications of cases of cruelty or inhumane treatment that will be going to court.  The pet-abuse.com site leads you to their home page as there is much information that you can choose for yourself whereas the other sites have general animal welfare issues.  On the pet-abuse.com site, you are able to specify which type of cases you search for.  Also, this site is for actual cruelty cases against a person.  The other sites are not as specific but just as important.  They deal more with national or regional issues and it is not usually on a case by case basis as pet-abuse.com is.
